UST Shifter/Transferee's Examination

$

Hello!

Since I know the feeling myself of being nervous on taking the shifter/transferee's examination, I'll be putting up all the information I can remember regarding the test. :naughty:

The exam is composed of four (4) sets: Mental Ability Test; Mathematics; Reading; and Science.

For the Mental Ability Test:
You are given 30 minutes to finish about 80 questions or so that will examine your quick-thinking skills (DAW). So based on my opinion, this part of the exam will not strain you because you only need to use your common sense. To be honest, this subtest is just a matter of you taking it seriously or not. I won't elaborate on the contents of this subtest kasi sobrang easy lang talaga niya. Trust me. ;)

For Mathematics:
Eto ang nakatatawa. The subtest is divided into two: Part A and Part B. Each part is composed of 40 questions and you will be given 40 minutes to finish each part. Also, scratch paper is provided (Which I think you really won't be needing, haha :rotflmao:) So, Part A is just basic Algebra. As long as you can still recall your algebra nung 1st/2nd Year ng Highschool. Kaya mo na! Pero ang mas challenging is ang Part B. May little of Geometry and Trigonometry pero hindi iyong advanced topics. So if I were you, brush up on your skills in Geometry and Trigonometry.
WARNING As I mentioned, it is divided into two parts: A and B. Be aware that you will be given 40 minutes to finish Part A. You cannot proceed to the next part. If you still have time, use it to review your answers for Part A. Wait for the proctor to give the Go Signal before you proceed. So naging okay ang lahat. WARNING kapag timing at ma-demonyo ang proctor, jusko mag-ingat kayo. Hahaha :rotflmao:

For Reading:
You will finish about 70 questions for this subtest in 45 minutes. So more on, reading comprehension talaga siya. Pero the first 3 or 4 set of questions will examine your vocabulary. But it's something you shouldn't worry about kasi parang Fill in the Blanks type ang pag-question. You are given a paragraph na may blanks. So each blank corresponds to an appropriate word which you will be choosing among your given choices. So there's really no need to study for this. I believe all you need is Tamang Pandinig kasi usually based on experience, kapag maganda naman pakinggan ang nilagay mong word sa sentence and mukhang may sense naman pag basahin. Okay na! Pasado na! Hahaha :rotflmao: For the reading comprehension part ng subtest, wala lang magbabasa ka lang ng paragraphs tapos may questions. In short, you don't need to study for this subtest. As long as seryosohin mo lang ang pagsagot I'm pretty sure you'll do excellently naman. Pero ako, super thankful na mabait ang proctor. Thank you, Sir!!

For Science:
This subtest is divided into two parts, each covering two subjects: Physical Science and Life Science The first part is composed of about 50 questions, you will be given 40 minutes to finish. While you'll only be provided 20 minutes to finish the second part which has 20 questions or so. Ang ma-rerecommend ko dito: Do not study for science. Kasi akala ko nung una, it would be similar to the USTET you'll be taking nung 4th year highschool pero hindi. The questions are conceptual. Pero if I were to go back a week before the qualifying test, I'd probably study more on physics particularly sa Laws and Theories kasi diyan kukunin ang mga conceptual questions na iyan. Also! Don't meddle and waste your time studying on formulas kasi walang solving for Physics as far as I can remember. For Life Science, you'll just need to recall a few topics lang talaga. Merong regarding ATP and its uses, major macromolecules, etc. Pero do not dwell on it, kasi I'm sure kaya mo namang hulaan ang sagot kasi mejo clear naman sa choices kung ano ang probable na maging sagot.
Ayun, ako nag-aral ng Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Nganga naman ako sa exam. So I suggest, you just chill and read up on your Physics textbooks nung highschool on the laws and theories.

To sum it all up:
Mental Ability Test - 80 questions (approx.) in 30 minutes
Mathematics - Part A - 40 questions in 40 minutes
Mathematics - Part B - 40 questions in 40 minutes
Reading - 60 questions (approx.)
in 45 minutes
Science - Part A - 50 questions in 40 minutes
Science - Part B - 25 questions in 20 minutes

Coverage of each test:
Mathematics
- Basic Algebra (Polynomials, Graphs, Exponents)
- Trigonometry (Logarithms, Right-angle Triangles)
- Geometry (Angle Postulates (e.g. Exterior angles, Interior angles), etc.)
Science
- Life Science (Biology, Macromolecules, etc.)
- Physical Science (Laws and Theories in Physics)

Okay, thank you for reading the whole post. I really put my heart in it. Hahaha, also. I just took my test last (xx/xx/2017) lang. So I think na updated lahat ng info na nilagay ko diyan. And if ever meron kayong mga kakilala who were able to take the test, you can ask them na rin. Kasi ang mga test booklet na dinistribute sa amin sobrang luma. I feel the test we took was the same as the test a decade ago. No joke. Well, feeling ko lang naman. Hahaha:p

Good luck at God bless sa mga kukuha pa ng exams! Honestly, super easy lang siya. Nakayanan ko nga, kayo pa! So, believe in yourself lang talaga! Pray, and God will do the rest!! Hahaha :rotflmao:

If you have any questions or clarifications, don't hesitate to reply on this thread. I will be more than happy to answer them.

Philippines says beheaded civilians found.....

By Kanupriya Kapoor,Reuters•June 28, 2017
A Philippines army soldier guards a road during an operation to retrieve bodies of victims from the fighting zone in Marawi City

MARAWI CITY, Philippines (Reuters) - Five decapitated civilians were found in a Philippine city occupied by Islamist rebels on Wednesday, the military said, warning the number of residents killed by rebel "atrocities" could rise sharply as troops retake more ground.

The discovery of the five victims among 17 bodies retrieved would be the first evidence that civilians trapped in besieged Marawi City have been decapitated during the five-week stand by militants loyal to the Islamic State group, as some who escaped the city have previously reported.

Some 71 security forces and 299 militants have been killed and 246,000 people displaced in the conflict, which erupted after a failed attempt on May 23 to arrest a Filipino militant commander backed by Islamic State's leadership.

President Rodrigo Duterte promised to destroy the militants in Marawi and said the Philippines was now dealing with "a very dangerous situation" due to young Muslims inspired by the "mass insanity" of Islamic State.

"All they do is just to kill and destroy, and killing in a most brutal way," he said at an event where he received hundreds of sniper and assault rifles donated by China to help the military campaign in Marawi.

"They enjoy decapitating people in front of cameras. They have to be dealt with, with the same ferocity but not the brutality," he said.

The information about the beheadings came via a text message to reporters from Lieutenant Colonel Emmanuel Garcia of the Western Mindanao Command. Garcia did not respond to repeated requests for details.

A civilian rescue worker, Abdul Azis Lomondot, told Reuters body parts were found, but with "no proof of beheading".

Military spokesman Jo-Ar Herrera said bodies were found separately in two groups, of 12 and five, but he was unable to confirm if the five were beheaded.

The battle entered its 36th day on Wednesday, with intense gunfights and bombing in the heart of the town and black-clad fighters seen from afar running between buildings as explosions rang out.

The rebels' hold on Marawi, while incurring the full force of a military for years trained by its U.S. counterparts, has much of the region on edge, concerned that Islamic State's influence may run deeper than thought.

Those fears are also being felt in Malaysia and Indonesia, whose nationals are among the Maute group of rebels fighting in Marawi, suggesting the group may have built a cross-border network that has gone largely undetected.

RISING TOLL

Military spokesman Restituto Padilla earlier said it was likely that many civilians had been killed and the death toll - at 27 before the latest 17 were announced - was only what the authorities could confirm independently and escapees had reported many in the area of fighting.

"(It) may increase significantly," Padilla told reporters. "There have been a significant number that have been seen."

Padilla said the cause of all of those deaths would be "atrocities committed by the terrorists".

Among those atrocities, the army says, have been residents being forced to loot homes, take up arms or become sex slaves.

Videos have appeared this month on the website of Islamic State's Amaq news agency and its social media channels of hostages in Marawi pleading for their lives, saying they would be beheaded if air strikes were not stopped. Clips have also appeared of kneeling captives, shot in the head from behind.

Reuters was unable to confirm the authenticity of the footage.

The military has so far been reluctant to discuss the possibility that the real impact of the fighting on civilians could be far more severe than has been reported.

It has played down the impact of daily air strikes and mortar assaults aimed at rebel sniper positions, which have reduced areas of the lakeside town to rubble and alarmed people stuck there, some of whom have said the shelling was a bigger threat than the militants.

Military spokesman Padilla said troops needed more time to finish what was a tricky mission, complicated by trapped civilians, hostages and booby traps.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/philippin...053339136.html

All those past years of cuddling and playing footsies with the rebels and terrorist elements in Mindanao only resulted into these kind of atrocities!

While politicians are trying to be politically correct for the sake of votes, all the while, these politicians are taken for push-overs by terrorists who believe that politicians will have no nerve to strike back! And the voters keep on electing them becasue they are movie celebs or they get free chicken meal! Wake up voters! Wipe off those happy faces of smirks because you won against the oppositions! Join hands to fight terrorist that is vent to kill you!

Why do Islam terrorists enjoy beheading the infidels? Read the Quran, 8:12 through 8:17. They're just doing what they have been taught to do.

Quran 8:12 – “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them” No reasonable person would interpret this to mean a spiritual struggle.

And

Quran 8:15 – “O ye who believe! When ye meet those who disbelieve in battle, turn not your backs to them. (16)Whoso on that day turneth his back to them, unless maneuvering for battle or intent to join a company, he truly hath incurred wrath from Allah, and his habitation will be hell, a hapless journey’s end.”

Also:
8:17 And you did not kill them, but it was Allah who killed them. And you threw not, [O Muhammad], when you threw, but it was Allah who threw that He might test the believers with a good test. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing.
