Ex-airline manager next airport chief?

MANILA, Philippines The next manager of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is a former station manager of a Hong Kong-based airline company, insiders in the aviation industry bared.
Sources told The STAR that Ed Monreal, 60, is the talk of the town as the next NAIA manager.
Monreal is the former station manager of Cathay Pacific Airlines. He started working at the airport in 1978 and was recruited in 1982 by Cathay Pacific. He retired last year and became a consultant of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA).
Sources said Monreal is a great source of knowledge and support to many country managers, and a loyal and hardworking colleague who over the years cemented his reputation as the number 1 typhoon guru in all Southeast Asia.
Monreal is also rumored to be incoming transportation secretary Arthur Tugades preferred candidate to head the MIAA.
