His Way

Hello guys. I'd like to share this Christian version of "My Way". This is what we ought to be singing in the twilight of our lives - not the self-centric, self-serving lyrics of the original version. ;)



His Way

My path was all my own
Oh filled with turns, had no direction
I charted my whole course
and moved ahead without correction
Inspite of selfish gains
I found no truth, no zest for living
instead of getting more, I needed giving

A God might be somewhere
But too remote to give attention
Besides my own success
Required no one's intervention
Mistakes more than a few
I must admit they weren't hearsay
And yet I bragged to all, I did it my way

Being so grand in my own eyes
Why then should I apologize?
I'd be a weak and lesser man
To seek that so-called nobler plan
The best of life I cast aside and did it my way

And now I look back
And I realize that there
Are choices that could have been made
There is a better way
A mode of life with God's infusion
No pride will waste my life
I'll give my thanks and ask His bidding
I'll heed His precious Word for all my living
So now I'll share with all I can
This greater theme, this finer plan
It's all I need it fills my life
I've handed all the stress and the strife
and turned it all around to Him
and He shows me His Way
