If you hear your neighbors fighting, crying, yelling, threatening, slamming doors, sounds of slams and things being thrown about but...you're not sure if it's physically violent or dangerous (I mean in the sense that it's actually possibly fatal)...when and how do you figure out when to intervene (call the cops or go in and investigate)?
Have there been a time when you thought about doing something and didn't and someone ended up being seriously hurt or killed?
What factors do you consider before intervening?
If it happens all the time, are you less likely to care?
Are there aspects of Filipino culture that prevents people from wanting to intervene or the opposite (laging nakikialam)? In the Philippines does it even become spectacle/entertainment? How do/often authorities respond in the Philippines?
How dangerous is it to intervene in 'domestic affairs' in the Philippines?
I'm very close to calling the cops on my next door neighbors. It's a beautiful Sunday...so if you're doing this at this moment in time this has got to be serious. They've been doing this for the last month. I don't care so much about the noise, because they do it within reasonable hours (:glee:) but I feel guilty and annoyed though, because I don't know if someone is getting really seriously hurt.
